Yes, from the outside it looks a little like the Motorola KRZR K1 or K3, even down to the "kick" at the bottom of the keypad, but inside is a fairly standard Nokia keypad (which may well appeal to people who don't like the RAZR keypad), and the overall styling of the Nokia 6555 is subtly different and we'd say quite a bit smarter. The Nokia 6555 will be available in four colours: black, red, sand gold and silver, and as you can see from the photographs the external display is an analogue clock by default which gives the 6555 a rather distinctive appearance.
It looks like an expensive phone, but in fact it's a fairly inexpensive midrange 3G device. Priced at around €200 / £140 / $280 before tax and subsidy, the Nokia 6555 comes with a basic 1.3 megapixel camera, a pretty standard 240x320 pixel display in 16 million colours, Bluetooth and microSD expandable memory. It's pretty lightweight for a 3G phone at 97 grams, and the Nokia 6555 is also quite narrow (just like the KRZR, in fact). Of course, the 6555 also has a multimedia player and the usual range of software you'd expect from a Series 40 device.

There are a few shortcomings - we don't see many 1.3 megapixel cameras these days, it doesn't appear to have stereo Bluetooth and the standard sales package doesn't include a microSD card, so initially you're limited to the 30MB of internal memory that the Nokia 6555 comes with. There's also no headset with the 6555, but it does include a 2.5mm connector for a standard accessory, and no USB cable either. If you want to get the most out of your Nokia 6555, then you'll need to spend some extra - but remember that this is a very good value for money handset to start with and these add-ons are not expensive.
Underneath, this is a quad-band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM phone with dual-band WCDMA/UMTS 850/2100. The Nokia 6555 measures 100 x 44 x 20mm and weighs 97 grams. Maximum talktime is 6 hours (presumably on GSM, not 3G), and the standby time is up to 11 days.
